“Let the little children come to me.”

Matthew 19:14

Bible Roots

Every Sunday from 10:30-11:30am

“Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). Each week children have the chance to grow in their faith as they learn more about Jesus. The Bible Roots class provides children of all ages with an opportunity to dig their roots deep into God’s Word as they explore fascinating accounts from the Bible and apply these ancient stories to their daily lives. Separated into three age-appropriate levels and taught by experienced and biblically instructed teachers, children from 3 to 14 will not only grow in their knowledge of the Bible but also in their love and appreciation for Jesus and others.

This free singing and music class has been a popular activity for parents (or grandparents!) and their young children every school year for over a decade.  Songs, Bible stories, and activities are organized by Karen Hennig and are catered to families with small children.  All children of all ages are welcome (although activities and songs are geared for children from infancy through seven years old) as long as they are accompanied by an adult.  Children are taught a short Bible story and fun songs as they develop mentally and socially with other kids their age.  Parents and grandparents have found it enjoyable spending time with their child (or grandchild) and also meeting other families with young children.  No need to call or sign up – just show up whenever you’d like!

7-8th Grade Catechism Classes

Once a week during
the school year

The continuing education of children is very important to us! After children have learned and applied Bible history, they are invited to attend a Catechism class where they look at the basic teachings of God’s Word.  Although the “Small Catechism” provides the framework for studying these fundamental teachings of the Bible, students also dig deeper into Scripture and use a variety of other teaching tools including videos, memorization, research projects, etc. The pastor leads these classes once a week during the school year – the date and time determined by the schedule of the families involved.

Youth Group

Monthly Activities

The friendships and connections children make with each other are an important way they can grow in faith together.  To facilitate that aspect of their spiritual maturity, we have monthly gatherings that include recreational and service activities. Each activity also includes time in God’s Word and prayer. The adult leaders from Living Word plan and organize Bible stories, games, crafts, activities, service opportunities, food, and more!

Easter for Kids

The second Saturday BEFORE Easter Sunday

In anticipation of the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, families with children ages 0-10 are invited for this Saturday morning event to learn more about the last week of Jesus’ life and what it means for their forgiveness and eternal life.

From 10am – Noon, children will hear the true stories about Jesus, participate in activities and crafts that build on the stories, search for Easter eggs, and get together with other similarly aged kids – and all for FREE!

Rocky Mountain Christian Camp

One week in the middle of July

For kids going into 6th grade through those going into 9th grade, our congregations in Colorado host a camp near Leadville, CO every summer.  It fills up quickly each year with more than 150 kids and is a great experience for young adults to get together with like-minded Christians in a safe and fun environment.  Check out their website for more details at: rmcc-wels.com.
